babes! This one’s for you today. I know, I should be waiting until Monday to post this but I just CAN’T WAIT so I’m breaking my rules. yep, sure am. It’s no secret that I love my girlfriends, they are my sisters, and some of my greatest joys in the life. And it breaks my heart how much we all struggle with insecurity and the desire to be beautiful, successful, smart, the perfect mothers, perfect wives, perfect everything. And since the women in my life have become some of my biggest sources of inspiration, I decided that it’s about damn time they are celebrated. So I’m teaming up with some of my fave gals, Tori from Sitting in a Tree, Rachael from Siren Floral Co, and Erica from 10.11 Makeup. We are teaming up to celebrate you ladies, to celebrate how stunningly beautiful you ALL are. We are offering mini sessions that we are calling Fox Sessions, because, well, you’re a fox and you’re wild (in the best way), yep you all are and we want to capture that part of you. For yourselves, for your partners, for your children…and for the experience. These sessions can be boudoir, they can be maternity, they can anything you want as long as they are a celebration of you and your wildness, your beauty, your strength.
The cost of the sessions are $325 which covers a 30 minute shoot by me (Rachel), minimum of 15 images delivered digitally with printing rights, a floral crown from Rachael to wear at the shoot, and clothing styling by Tori (yep, she’s letting you raid her closet/sequin den). Then we are giving you the optional add-on of hair and makeup by Erica (email me for pricing), I mean, who doesn’t like having their hair and makeup done? We will be offering several dates and we will be taking these on the road for a little boudoir road show, so I’ve listed out cities and dates below. These are already filling up so email me for more info or sign up for a spot in your city! firstname.lastname@example.org
San Diego: Jan 26th (potential to open another date with enough interest)
San Francisco: Feb 6th
Portland: Feb 9th
Los Angeles: Feb 12th
Don’t see your city here? Get enough of your friends together and interested to do the sessions and we’ll add your city. Just email me for more info! This is great gift for grooms, or even for bachelorette parties, drink champagne, get hair and makeup done, play dress up, take some pics. We recently all did this together because we wanted to experience what our clients are and we had an absolute blast. Seriously, the best time spent with your girlfriends.
Uh oh, I wrote a novel, so I’ll wrap this up and leave you to check out the pictures of us all (scary! but awesome). One of my faves, eco feminist extraordinaire, Terry Tempest Williams says “To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from.” Ladies, we are connected to each other, to our partners, our husbands, our sisters, our earth, our moon. Ladies, we are beauty and we are power, lets celebrate that shall we? Yes. yes yes yes. EMAIL ME! do it! Rachel@studiocastillero.com

And how are we all doing today? Hopefully by now you’ve all had your coffee and are ready for the week to start. I’m there. I love coffee…mmmmmmmmmm. Rico and I had another packed weekend with two weddings perfectly finished off with a dinner at Spread with two lovelies (xoxo Josh and Ariel). And here we are, EDITING our brains out, and prepping for the engagement shoots and weddings coming up this week. Life is good eh? I think so.
Today we’re going to share with you a boudoir shoot Rico and I did last week (in our dining room) with our FABULOUS hairstylist and friend Mish. Not only is Mish a genius at keeping my hair tame but she’s also an extremely talented wedding hair stylist. Seriously, she’s a true artist and I fully recommend her if you’re in need of the BEST HAIR EVER for your wedding. We were ecstatic when we had the opportunity to do this this shoot with Mish, and I really love this because it is a perfect example of how boudoir can be anything you want it to be and still be just as beautiful. Who says you have to sit around in your chonies and take off your clothes? Not us! We can make your boudoir shoot anything you like, one requirement is that it’s YOU and that you feel comfortable. Got it? good. Sooooooooo, Mish obviously rocked this shoot and I could not wait to share it with you, so here you go!
And OF COURSE a shout out is in need for Rita Nguyen, the talented makeup artist who did Mish’s makeup. AMAZING!
Oh boy, here we are at Monday again and I definitely found myself wanting to take a sick day when my alarm went off this morning. Although we had a pretty killer weekend (in the good sense), waking up Monday morning has never been an easy task for me. What did we do this weekend, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. We went up to San Luis Obispo for a rainy engagement session with Luca and Carly (such troopers!) and then just hung out the rest of the weekend with my bff and her fam. Even though it rained, it was heavenly and just what we needed. Oh and I must say I am feeling very accomplished that we made it home because driving through LA in a storm like yesterday’s was quite the challenge….luckily we stopped at Flore in LA for a quick bite that blew my mind. Seriously amazing vegan awesomess…I got the Tu-No Melt with the beet salad and just about passed out right there. If you live in LA go there, NOW.
Ok, enough about our weekend (although I know you SO enjoy hearing about what I had for lunch)…today we have a rad boudoir shoot to share with you. Boudoir? Yes, remember a while back I mentioned that we also do boudoir? Well, we do and we love it. I shoot most of the shoots alone or with a female assistant, but sometimes we have a client that is cool with Rico coming along and shooting some of the less revealing parts of the shoot (he provides an amazing non female perspective). That is exactly what happened in the fashion-inspired boudoir shoot I have for you today, oh and NOT ONLY was Rico shooting, so was our amazing intern Delaney (she is a talented make-up artist as well and did Kristy’s make-up, so fyi if you’re looking for some of the best make-up EVER for your wedding). So Kristy had to deal with THREE of us, and let me tell you, she was amazing….we even did this in a public park! Goooooo Kristy! So I’ll stop my yapping and let the pictures speak for themselves. If anyone is interested in a boudoir session, you should just head over to your email right now because I’m offering a $50 discount if you book a session by the end of the week and have Delaney do your make-up. WHAT?? I know, email me…go on.
Also, again I must mention that it appears some people are not receiving my emails. So if you haven’t heard from me and were expecting to, then definitely email me and let me know because it’s quite possible my email either went to your spam or didn’t arrive at all! Sheesh, come on technology! love you all and enjoy!
And in case you were wondering where her rad clothes are from:
