Good times coming your way for fall, are you excited? I know I am. You probably know that we limit our portrait sessions every year due to our crazy schedule. We get so many inquiries during the holiday season for portrait sessions, so we decided to do something a little differently this year instead of having to turn so many of you down. We are going to be offering Fall Mini Sessions. They will be taking place on two dates, November 3rd and 17th and will last for 20 minutes each. You will receive a minimum of 8 full res digital files to be used for anything you please, holiday cards, prints, gifts, etc. Aaaaaaaand, guess what? It gets better. The always amazing Sitting in a Tree is going to be styling them. YES! We wanted to give you some variety with locations, so on Nov 3rd we will be shooting at an outdoor session in the South/North Park area of San Diego, and on Nov 17th the session will take place indoors at our place in San Diego (South Park). For the pricing, it’s $289 per session which includes everything I listed above, including the styling by Tori (it’s not clothing styling, but setting styling and props). Then you will have your images delivered to you via electronic transfer by the last week of November, in time for any cards or prints. Soooo, interested? Space is limited and we are already halfway booked so email me right away if you want to get in on the goodness I will send you a paypal invoice and once I receive payment you will be booked! Then in the meantime, check out some portrait goodies here on our blog. oxox

Today I woke up at 10am. I know. AND it was still difficult. I really hate waking up, but on the rare occasion that I do wake up earlier (say 8am) I always enjoy the quietness of the morning. My most recent goal, allow a little more quiet in my life, practice stillness. Today I failed, but that’s ok, I’ll start tomorrow. Gearing up for a pretty busy week ending with an epic wedding on Saturday, it’s going to be a good one, and this week a crazy week so sleeping in today was warranted…bring on the week! And with that I’m sharing a little lifestyle session today. Jamie is a talented photographer and a lovely friend of mine so when she asked us to do a little session with them before moving out of the house they’ve lived in for 10 years, we couldn’t pass it up. Jamie, Ben, and Henry…thank you for letting us in on a piece of your life, you’re refreshing, you’re inspiring and we can’t wait to experience this next chapter of life (in South Park..yeah!) alongside you.

Yo! Happy Monday what what? Indeed. Rico and I have had quite the weekend. We had two lovely photog friends visiting from the midwest (hi Ashley! Hi Abbey!), so we were adventuring our way around San Diego, finishing the weekend at The Cream Event last night. Which has left me quite tired and sore footed this morning from all that EPIC PARTYING. Good times, good good times my friends. Soooooo, here we are pleasingly exhausted, packing for a week in Tahoe and San Fran, and of COURSE blogging for you all. Today we’re sharing the family session of Stone and Shelby Crandall. We only do a handful of family sessions a year due to our crazy schedule, so it’s such a treat when we get to spend this time documenting the lives of one of our favorite familys and fellow photogs in San Diego. So we met up at their house, and then hit up their local walking trail and topped it off with some good noodles for dinner. Shelby, Stone, and Knox…we love you. Yep, pretty much. It was an honor that you asked us to spend this time with your family, thank you for inspiring us and we can’t wait for many more shoots to come (and noodles!!).

ALSO, one more order of business. Rico and I are on the lookout for an intern to join our studio ASAP. It’s a great opportunity to learn from us as you develop your photography business, AND to learn the in’s and out’s of this business and industry. SO if this seems like something you may be interested in, we’re putting our feelers out so shoot me an email at rachel{at} and tell me why you want to work with us! Thank ya in advance! muah!
