Today I woke up at 10am. I know. AND it was still difficult. I really hate waking up, but on the rare occasion that I do wake up earlier (say 8am) I always enjoy the quietness of the morning. My most recent goal, allow a little more quiet in my life, practice stillness. Today I failed, but that’s ok, I’ll start tomorrow. Gearing up for a pretty busy week ending with an epic wedding on Saturday, it’s going to be a good one, and this week a crazy week so sleeping in today was warranted…bring on the week! And with that I’m sharing a little lifestyle session today. Jamie is a talented photographer and a lovely friend of mine so when she asked us to do a little session with them before moving out of the house they’ve lived in for 10 years, we couldn’t pass it up. Jamie, Ben, and Henry…thank you for letting us in on a piece of your life, you’re refreshing, you’re inspiring and we can’t wait to experience this next chapter of life (in South Park..yeah!) alongside you.

And Monday is upon us again…aaaaaand we are STILL traveling. Quite the whirlwind we’ve had the last two weeks (as I’m sure you could tell from last week’s blog post). Today we have found ourselves on the last day of our trip. Sitting here in the lobby, glass of wine, olives, free wifi, all necessities for a good blog post just before heading to the airport in 20 minutes. Home is calling our name. But before we head out, we thought we’d share the second leg of our trip. After NYC we got a train to Boston for a few days, where we walked the freedom trail and ate way too much italian food (yum). We then caught a bus, to a boat, to Nantucket island where we explored for a few days (yep, we are definitely buying a scooter when back in SD) and finished it all off with the amazing wedding of Katie and Mike.

Oh man, Katie and Mike. Words cannot express. Their wedding was A-mazing. they rented a house on the bluff in the little town of Sconset. It was the perfect combo of floridans, new yorkers, scots and brits AND it was epic (who doesn’t love a man in a kilt eh?). Katie and Mike, as I said to you already, once you book us for your wedding we’re in for life. Yep, so be looking forward to lots of NYC visits, Swift’s Bar trips, and adventuring. We adore you..we are SO happy for you and your commitment to each other and we look forward to many adventures in the future (including us of course, duh). And with that I leave you to the post…we’re off to hit the skies because home is calling our name. Muah! (all pics except those from the wedding taken via our iPhones).

Cars, planes, subways, trains, taxis, and boats. Yep, that pretty much describes our last two weeks. The wedding season is upon us and Rico and I officially in travel mode. Last week we had the amazing opportunity to head down to Valle de Guadalupe for a little getaway to celebrate Rico’s 30th bday. wooooooooo, old man Rico! You guys, this trip, it was amazing. We had most of our closest friends/family there with us and it was several days pool relaxation and amazing wine (and chilaquiles…yum!). It was heaven and I can honestly say my heart hurts wishing it could rewind and go back to last week. (not to worry though, because you’ll be hearing more about this trip at a later date, exciting things happening and possibly a video in the works. whaaaaaaaat? indeed).

Even though I want to go back to last week, right now we are sitting on a train riding through New England en route to Boston after having spend several days in NYC, so I can HARDLY complain. On thursday we caught a red eye to NYC, shot an engagement session upon arrival, yes, on zero sleep but we love Conor and Julia so it was worth it (seriously, love you guys!). Then we wandered around the city, had the best vegan donuts of our life and pizza in Brooklyn, exploring with our new friend and fellow photog Sidney Morgan, and shot ANOTHER lovely engagement session for Hayley and Rory…and that brings us to now. We’re headed to Boston for a few days and then will catch a ferry to Nantucket on Wednesday for a wedding we are shooting there this weekend. SHEESH. How lucky are we? We get to see and shoot amazing people and visit amazing places, we can’t complain. So today’s post is dedicated to our travels, Mexico and NYC are the only places shown here because the trip isn’t complete, so you bet you’ll be seeing some Boston/Nantucket goodness soon enough. In the meantime, from Mexico to NYC it is!
